Gardening Hack #8 – Conserve Cooking Water
All plants need water and they don’t particularly care where it comes from. Recycle water you used to make eggs, pasta, veggies, and more. Instead of dumping this boiled water down the drain, use it to water your garden. Ensure the water cools to room temperature before you use it though.
Believe it or not, this can actually reduce your need to buy plant food just a bit. Many of the foods we boil like sweet potatoes or cabbage release some of their nutrients into the water. Those same nutrients can help boost the fertility of your garden soil.
